Lloyd Athletic Club offers seven racquetball courts with challenge nights and in-house league play. We're also the host site for the Oregon State Racquetball Championships held each year in March. An active group of players of all levels keep the program strong and growing.
Racquet sports are a very social part of the club with the lobby area in front of both back wall glass courts. There's plenty of seating and access to the snack bar where you can grab a protein drink, beer or wine depending on your tastes.
Courts #2 & #3 are reserved for challenge court every Monday & Wednesday from 4pm - Close.
Play is open to all players and is based on the court you sign up on. Expect a social group that turns a lot of nights into doubles play to maximize everyone's court times.
Racquetball leagues are run ongoing here at the club with no fees to participants. Throughout the year there are four leagues: two in the Winter and two in Summer/Spring.
Leagues are arranged by skill level from Beginner to Open/A. Sign-ups are open and new players will be added each time a new league begins. All leagues are set up as Flex Leagues where matches are played on competitors' own schedules.
L.A.C. offers personal racquetball lessons by our club pro, Cody Matteucci. (click to learn more about Cody...)
This type of session is for everyone from beginners to high intermediate players and helps ensure that you get the most out of your time on the court! Each lesson is tailored for your playing ability and goals, and there is usually a light warm-up followed by some actual play to help determine your skill level.
The session includes all the fundamentals, including rules, court position, foot work, good form, and strategy. Many players schedule a two-hour session which includes the Private Mechanics and Drills Lesson as well.
A mechanics and drills session is recommended for all serious racquetball players of any level. Learning proper swing mechanics and doing racquetball drills are essential to maximizing your game. It's also important for beginners to learn the proper mechanics from day one.
Mechanics, drills, playing or video analysis, it's your choice. And it's best if you're on the same page. Two versus one is always a great time with this lesson. Video may be included for a small fee.
